Her story

Suyin is thirty-one and grew up in a Singapore flat with a balcony of orchids that she watered before she did her homework. She studied horticulture in London, came home and built a conservatory design studio that now plans glass houses for hotels from Bali to Dubai.

She is a toned woman with a rose-gold balayage, a copper wing of liner, three gold hoops in one ear and a botanical tattoo she sketched herself along her forearm. She talks about plants the way other people talk about lovers: patiently, in detail and with total commitment.
