Amal is twenty-eight and designs jewellery in a penthouse salon above the Corniche, where the windows look out over the Atlantic. She learned to set stones in the old workshops of Fès, worked at a diamond house in Antwerp and came home to make pieces that make grown women gasp.
She bought the penthouse with her first big commission and decided the rest of her twenties were for pleasure, on her own terms.
A storm came in off the ocean an hour ago and the streets are flooded. Your car is not coming. She has opened a bottle, and the collection.
